The two-term amendment; proposed and passed by Congress in 1947; ratified in 1951.

The amendment that altered the electoral college procedures and specified an eligibility rule for the Vice President which becomes more crucial in the wake of the later 22nd amendment.

The 25th amendment, with various provisions for presidential and vice presidential turnover, is implicated in various workarounds or “tricks” that have been put forward.

The statute passed in the Truman Administration, in the same year as the 22nd amendment – 1947 – altering the succession order as well as proclaiming that persons not qualified to be president can not succeed to the presidency through this Act.
